Morning run just too complicated lah

amilia: Its a bit hard for me to give you detailed advice unless i meet you in person. Based on what you have shared with me, here are some tips for you

1) Find out what movements / exercises cause the pain. You will want to avoid those movements till you recover. I injured my wrist once and could not do straight barbell curls. So i experimented and found that the EZ bar put less strain on my wrist. So once my wrist healed, i then injured my elbow.i realized it was because of the EZ bar. So i switched back to a normal bar and voila, the pain disappeared and now i am fully recovered. Yes, i was still working out regularly. So do experiment around and find out what exercises are off limits and what exercises you can do. While your back heals, you can still do exercise.

2) Reduce the intensity of your exercises. i find that when our muscles are pushed to the limit we tend to get sloppy and this sometimes can worsen an injury. Eg. when running. Once i pass 6 or 7km, my legs start to feel sore. I noticed that my footing becomes sloppy and i am more likely to injure my knees. So reduce the intensity and this way you are in better control of your movement and execution. Yes it may feel yucks to downgrade but hey, some exercise is still better than no exercise

3) Try low impact exercises like swimming. This can help you to rehabilitate your injury as you strengthen the supporting muscles without causing it more harm

4) Because you can work out as much, watching your diet becomes increasingly important. There was once when i could not work out for a whole month. So what i did was watch my food... it helps to reduce the damage / effects of not working out. So watch your diet and cut down where you can.

Hope these tips help. I know doctors like to say stay clear of exercise, but i am stubborn sometimes. so i try to find ways around it. :-) hope you can do the same as well.Rajanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12849524760799149330noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4090522598679611171.post-7262142720143325912011-11-30T10:47:21.051+08:002011-11-30T10:47:21.051+08:00Hi Rajan.

I even shed 30 kilos in 6+months.
Recently, my back pain has re-occured (confirmed by MRI). Doctor said the workout contributed to my recent injury. I am sad and upsad when the thing that I love been said as the cause of my injury. Yet I do think such workout did help lots especialy in strengthening my core (hence added support to the spine).
For your info, when I was active I did workout classes such as boxfit, step, x-trainer, body sculpt, bootcamp as well as jogging. I do bare in mind my limitation and did low impact/light weight. However, I may go (little bit) overboard especially when I felt good and healthy.
At the moment I am zero workout as the injury is still new and active. I lost my happy hour in working out :(. I am starting gaining weight :(.
Do you have any advice for me..

Thanks a lot Rajan...amilia majidhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09732054382235892062noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4090522598679611171.post-26262095101982352242011-11-23T14:56:15.156+08:002011-11-23T14:56:15.156+08:00nice Rajan.
